Industrial heat exchangers are used to provide a large amount of surface area to exchange heat between two materials. Heat exchangers can cool or heat, and a sectioned plate heat exchanger can do both in one unit. Shell and tube heat exchangers have a bundle of tubes surrounded by the heating or cooling fluid inside a shell they are durable and can reliably handle pressure. Plate heat exchangers use a series of plates with product and heating or cooling fluid on alternating sides of the plates this design allows quick tear-down for cleaning and easy reconfiguration.
